All colse to the world, population are asking, “Is the end of world near?”
This may be particularly true for Christians, who can see any of the signs of the end that were unbelievable in the Bible. Either you’re looking transmit to the end or dreading it, the signs are there. Take a look at some of the prophecies.
“And many false prophets will arise and mislead many.” Matthew 24:11
There’s no doubt that there have been many population who have risen to such a level that they are able to lead population astray. Jim Jones and David Koresh are often mentioned because these individuals as a matter of fact claimed to be the messiah, but I don’t think that the prophecy alludes only to population like this.
Perhaps even more risky are the “prophets” that are more mainstream who are important population astray. Some would say that President Obama could be a prophet that’s important the population astray, while others may argue that the leaders of the political right, such as Rush Limbaugh, are the ones truly important population astray.
“For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes.” Matthew 24:7
There’s no doubt that the world is rife with war and there are a whole of population throughout the world that go hungry each day. With the economic problems in America, the issue of hunger is no longer confined to the third world. Many Americans do not get adequate to eat. There are also many earthquakes throughout the world.
“But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of satisfaction rather than lovers of god; holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; always studying and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” Ii Timothy 3:1-5,7
Whether you’re religious or not, Christian or Pagan, I think that it’s safe to say that this does look current society. Greed is rampant and population are only looking out for themselves. Instead of being a community that cares for one another, we have come to be a community that only cares about our own needs, all others be damned. This selfishness can be seen in the current condition care debate, where population that claim do be loving believe that only those who can afford to pay high premiums should be allowed to have condition insurance. Where is the brotherhood?
“But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs. Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations on list of my name.” Matthew 24:8-9
This is Jesus speaking, saying that believers will come to be hated because of his name (or the fact that they are Christian). In some countries of the world, where Christianity is not the primary faith, those that are Christian are persecuted. Even in countries with a large Christian population, such as America, Christians face ridicule from non-believers, though this does not regularly lead to death.
